Indore girl, Manasi Moghe will be representing India at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant, in Russia.
The show is being held in Crocus City Hall, a concert venue by the Moscow ring road. Performing at the show will be pop singer Emin Agalarov, whose family company built the venue.
The contest began in Palm Beach in 1952 and still bans its contestants from being married or pregnant. Complete with swimsuit round, the contest remains hugely popular, particularly in Central and South America.
The winner will be crowned at the main show on Saturday, November 9, which includes an interview round.
Manasi will be competing against 86 contestants from around the world.
She also showed off her svelte figure in a black bikini for the pageant's swimsuit round.
Tuesday's preliminary round saw Manasi strut across the stage in a sparkling and slinky evening gown.
For the costume round, Manasi stunned in a costume inspired by the Gompas of Ladakh in India.
Manasi's tryst with beauty pageants began after she won the 'Beauty Queen' title during college.
Manasi who considers herself a 'foodie' gets fussy when she has to change her diet.
Manasi is a trained classical dancer and even plays the synthesizer.
Her parents are Medical Officers working with Coal India Limited.
On what makes her unique, she said, "My mother is the person who motivated me to take part in every activity, whether cultural, social or spiritual, and embedded in me the importance of family and human values."
Manasi is an engineering graduate from Nagpur University.
The 22-year-old beauty queen won the 'Miss Diva 2013' contest held on September 5, 2013.
