Hyderabad: Panic spread at the Secunderabad Railway Station on Tuesday morning following a hoax bomb call.

An anonymous person called the control room claiming that a bomb was planted on Platform No. 9. Though the bomb detection squad, Railway Police and Railway Protection Force conducted a search after evacuating the area, no explosives were found.

Railway police officials said Dial 100 services got a call at around 10 am that the bomb would explode in a few minutes.

A bomb detection squad with sniffer dogs rushed to the spot and checked the area. RPF also employed metal detectors to check the area.

“After hours of search no bomb were found in entire railway station,” said a senior official from railway police.

Authorities said no trains were delayed or halted due to the search.

Cops are trying to track down the anonymous prank caller after booking a case against him. The phone number is being tracked with the help of cyber crime experts.
