I believe show steals Kochi’s heart
Programme by 400 actors, 200 dancers features lives of 20 saints.
Kochi: ‘I believe’, the light and sound show being performed at the St. Albert’s Higher Secondary School grounds, continued to attract thousands as its fourth day ended on a high note on Wednesday.
The event, which is conceived and presented by the Cochin Arts and Communication (CAC), the art and cultural wing of the Archdiocese of Verapoly, features the lives of 20 saints using 400 actors and 200 dancers.
From kids to senior citizens, the actors have given their best performances to take the show to a superb level. The two-hour long show, which commenced last Sunday, is directed by Fr. Capistan Lopez, penned by Abhilash Fraizer, while its narration is given by versatile actor-director Lal.
The programme also highlights the music by Berny and Ignatius and sound design by Ganesh. Wednesday’s show started with the story of Adam and Eve being exterminated from the Garden of Eden.
God hands over a red cloth to the duo while they leave the paradise and this cloth continues to connect all the stories. The day witnessed the stories of many saints, Abraham, Mother Mary, Rita and Francis Assisi, Antony, Paul Mickey, Damian, Maria Gorethi, Dominic Savio, Bakeetha, Alphonsa and Mother Teresa to name a few, as the actors put up brilliant performances to light up the crowd.
The programme focuses on re-reading the lives of saints in the context of socio-cultural-ethical problems of their era. The stories are also linked to current problems like rape, domestic violence, abortion and divorce. The show, which is organized in association with the Catechetical Department of the Archdiocese and Family Apostolate, will conclude next Tuesday.
