Bengaluru: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday jumped onto the bandwagon of those critical of the move by  BJP leaders to collect an entry fee for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s rally scheduled for November 17.

Speaking to media persons here, Mr Kumaraswamy said “about a decade ago, the BJP duped people in the name of Lord Rama and collected bricks and money for construction of the temple in Ayodhya. Now, the leaders are collecting money for Mr Modi’s rally. People should not get duped by these dirty tactics.”

The JD (S) leader criticized Mr Modi saying “In his previous speeches, Mr. Narendra Modi has altered the history of India, including the birth place of Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Now, he will arrive in Bengaluru on November 17 to alter the history of Karnataka. People will reject him in the elections. The BJP has christened Modi’s rally as Bharatha Gellisi (Elect India). Our people will not elect the person who was responsible for killing of innocent people in Gujarat in 2002.”
