Melbourne: Gaganjeet Bhullar overcame a middle game blip, which saw him drop three shots over two holes, to recover to a one-over 72 that ensured he would play the weekend rounds at the Talisker Masters at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
Bhullar is one-under 141 and in tied 19th position, down from his overnight 12th place.
Bhullar, starting from the first, birdied the second but a double bogey on sixth was followed by a bogey on seventh. He did get back a shot on tenth. However, another bogey on 12th saw him back at two-over.
Birdies on 15th and 18th with a bogey in between on 16th saw him finish at 72.
India's other challenger at the event, Anirban Lahiri birdied second and third, but thereafter fell apart with six bogeys and a double bogey to finish with a 76 and exit early.
Rookie professional Nathan Holman, meanwhile, ensured a third round pairing with his idol and Masters winner, Adam Scott.
