Chennai: The DMK on Friday served legal notice to Salem police superintendent and Vazhapadi inspector cautioning that it would move the court if they fail to register a case against the AIADMK functionaries including a state minister for alleged violation of model code of conduct in Yercaud by poll.

Advocate I. Paranthamen sent the notice to two police officers on behalf of DMK district secretary in-charge S.R. Sivalingam over police not registering a case against minister Edappadi K. Palanisamy and Salem MP S. Semmalai among other AIADMK leaders.

Sivalingam blamed the ruling party men of violating the model code of conduct by using more than prescribed number of vehicles. The DMK alleged that no FIR had been registered for the complaint lodged with Vazhappadi station inspector on October 30. The complaint named the persons who allegedly committed violations.
