Hyderabad: Two giraffes were transferred from the Nehru Zoological park to the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

The two giraffes were brought from Malaysia a month back to the city zoo.

“The actual exchange programme was between the Vizag zoo and the Malaysian zoo. The Nehru Zoological Park just acted as a facilitator,” explained A. Shankaran, curator of the Nehru Zoological Park.

After the death of a giraffe recently that was brought from Malaysia, zoo officials are now taking more precautions for safe transportation of animals.
