Strict security arrangement at palace ground ahead of Narendra Modi’s rally.

Bengaluru: Elaborate security arrangements which is said to be a first of its kind given to any politician or VVIP visiting the city has been made in view of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city for a public meeting at Palace Grounds on Sunday.
City Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradhkar briefing about the arrangements said that security to Modi has been given utmost importance in view of the bomb blasts during his public meet at Patna.
Even the policemen deployed for the security duty will have to undergo security checks. A four-tier security arrangement has been made with the deployment of 10 DCPs, 25 ACPs, 100 inspectors, 250 sub-inspectors, 300 ASIs, 3,000 policemen, including 1,200 policemen from the neighbouring districts, 800 home guards and 500 civil defence volunteers, he said.
Apart from this security, Modi has been provided with the NSG cover and has his own Gujarat Close Protection Group. In front of the main dais there will be a no-man land, followed by a four-level security.
On Sunday, Modi will be visiting Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Ashram in Kanakapura and Vidyapeeta Ashram near Vidyapeeta Circle, before attending the public meeting at the Palace Grounds. High level discussions were being held between the authorities of the airport, railways, KSRTC, BMTC, Revenue, BBMP and other agencies in order to provide fool-proof security, the commissioner said.
As per the information provided by the BJP leaders, nearly three lakh people are expected to attend the public meet. There will be seven entry gates - two at Krishna Vihar on the Bellary Road, two at Tripura Vasini, two entry points at Jaya Mahal side and one at Gayathri Vihar.
The public will have to undergo a two-layer frisking and no will be exempted, the commissioner said. Water bottles, match boxes, crackers, flags, sticks and other combustible materials will not be allowed inside the venue, he added.
The police has even requested the participants to keep their mobile phones at homes, as even that will be subjected to checking. The BJP will be providing 1,400 party volunteers to assist the crowd. The entire ground and surrounding areas have already undergone a through anti-sabotage checks and CCTV cameras will help the authorities to keep a close look on the proceedings.

Following are the locations which can be used for parking on Sunday.
To facilitate smooth traffic around the Palace grounds, the city traffic authorities have declared following areas as no parking zones.
On Bellary road, from Hebbal Police Station junction to HQTC junction.
On Veterinary University en route to Hockey and Football ground.
On Ramana Maharshi road, from Mekhri Circle up to Cauvery Junction.
On Chowdaiah road, from Rajbhavan to Cauvery Junction.
On C.V. Raman road, from Mekhri Circle up to IISc junction.
On Jayamahal main road from Mekhri Circle up to Cantonment Railway Station.

BMTC/KSRTC buses can park at BMTC Depot-28 near Hebbal Flyover.
Two-wheeler can be parked at Railway Parallel road, between Chowdaiah road near BDA junction up to Seshadripuram Railway Under Bridge.
Four-wheeler can be parked at Vasanthanagar Play ground opposite Kodava Samaj.
Parking facility has been arranged for all types of vehicles on the service road between Hebbal flyover and Bhadrappa junction.
