The R&B star Rihanna is all set to receive the first American Music Awards (AMA) Icon Award, which is created to honour an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level.

The Diamonds hitmaker, who will also perform at the award ceremony, is the latest to join the growing list of artistes including names like Justin Timberlake, Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Kesha at the AMA, said the Hollywood Reporter.
