GSLV launch December end
The launch of the GSLV-D5 was called off on August 19 finding a leak in the UH25 fuel system.
Chennai: India would launch Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) with its indigenous cryogenic engine during December this year.
Speaking to reporters at the city airport, Dr K. Radhakrishnan, chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that scientists identified problem in the cryogenic stage of the GSLV and had rectified the issue. “The launch vehicle is ready for launch and we plan to launch it in December,” he said.
ISRO called off the launch of the GSLV-D5 on August 19 as it found a leak in the UH25 fuel system of the liquid second stage during the pre-launch pressurisation phase on the vehicle before the scheduled launch.
On Mangalyaan, Dr Radhakrishnan said scientists have done several manoeuvres to position the satellite onto its stipulated path and ISRO is expected to perform the crucial event of trans Martian injection of the spacecraft in the early hours of December 1.
