Dhanush teams up with Big B
Dhanush bagged his second Hindi film with icon Amitabh Bachchan.
Actor Dhanush, whose Bollywood debut 'Raanjhanna', garnered mammoth attention and warm praise for his terrific performance, has signed his second Hindi film. Although there was speculation in the industry for a while, the 'Maryan' star confirmed it a day ago on his microblogging website. The film will be a giant leap for the actor as he will share screen space with Bollywood iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Dhanush wrote, “Yes guys! My next Hindi film is with Balki sir. Very excited and eagerly looking forward to it :) Thanks for all your wishes. Privileged to share screen space with Big B himself. Ecstatic to be part of Raja sir’s musical again. Finally, a chance to work with P.C sir!” Director Balki has gathered his regular team that comprises composer Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja and ace cinematographer P.C. Sreeram. Dhanush’s first Hindi film, 'Raanjhanaa', which was directed by Anand L. Rai, helped the actor join the Rs 100-crore club and Dhanush’s chemistry with actress Sonam Kapoor was lauded. It is rumoured that Akshara Haasan, second daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, will pair up with Dhanush, and the film will also be her debut. Sources in the industry say that Shah Rukh Khan was first roped in as the lead actor, for Balki’s film, and owing to challenges with his dates, Dhanush has been roped in. Dhanush, who is presently shooting for 'Velai Illadha Pattadhaari' and K. V. Anand’s 'Anegan', is expected to join Balki’s camp once he completes both his Tamil films.
