Kiran never opposed state division: Dokka
Justice will be done to both regions.
Guntur: Minister for rural development Dokka Manikya Varaprasad said that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy never opposed the bifurcation of the state decision in a meeting with the party high command.
If he was against it, he would have conveyed his opinion to the party high command, Varaprasad said. “Without his consent how bifurcation process will take place, ” he questioned.
Addressing a press conference in Guntur city on Thursday, Varaprasad felt that had the Chief Minister sent an Assembly resolution against the division of the state, the situation would have been different.
“Kiran Kumar Reddy was saying his personal opinion in favour of united AP. He is loyal to the Congress high command,” the minister said.
Varaprasad accused some persons in the Chief Minister’s camp of having launched a malicious campaign against PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and recently against Speaker Nadendla Manohar to tarnish their image.
He requested them not to drag the Speaker into politics. He said, “I will write a letter to PCC president Satyanarayana to conduct an inquiry to know who launched the malicious campaign against them.”
When the reporters asked whether Lakshminarayana will get a key post, Varaprasad said he would be more happy if Lakshminarayana gets a key post.
Varaprasad expressed confidence that the Congress high command will do justice to both the regions very soon.
