Ministers dare Achuthanandan to show proof of sex
IG Ajith Kumar to sue Biju’s lawyer for libel.
Kollam/Delhi: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K.C. Venugopal, and Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar have dared their detractors to show proof to substantiate allegations that they had sexually exploited Solar scam accused, Saritha S. Nair.
The Ministers were reacting to Opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan’s charges and Solar accused Biju Radhakrishnan’s advocate Jacob Mathew’s claim that he had the videotape to expose them besides former Cinema Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar and IG (Crimes) M.R. Ajith Kumar.
Ajith Kumar, who is in Rajasthan as poll observer, said he would sue the advocate for libel and petition the Bar Council. Venugopal and Anil Kumar said if the advocate had “some spine” he should publish the evidence in whatever medium he preferred to. Achuthanandan, who also raised the charges, had the responsibility to prove them. But these were all part of a conspiracy to defame them, the Ministers said separately.
Jacob Mathew said on Thursday that he would make the material public once he got the written permission from Biju Radhaskrishnan.
Jacob Mathew claimed that materials with Biju Radhakrishnan were proof of Saritha Nair’s relationship with 12 VIPs at Thekkady Guest House and houses of Venugopal’s friends in Delhi. This was based on information in Saritha’s diary and there was more than one tape on a particular VIP, he claimed.
The counsel alleged that once Biju Radhakrishnan had disclosed possessing the tape, mobile phones of Biju and advocates were being tapped.
Earlier, Saritha Nair had denied the involvement of Ministers and the ex-Minister after Biju Radhakrishnan alleged that she had mentioned their names to a magistrate.
Ajith Kumar said over phone that “the allegations raised against me are totally baseless. It seems that strong evidence gathered against Biju Radhakrishnan in the murder of his wife Reshmi seems to be the provocation for the malicious campaign against me”.
Ajith Kumar, who was earlier Commissioner in Kochi, had received vital clues to the Reshmi murder from Saritha S Nair, while she and Biju were held by Thiruvananthapuram city police in 2010.
Kumar, who was then Thiruvananthapuram police commissioner, had passed on the information to the Crime Branch. He is now supervising the murder probe as the Crime Branch IG.
