Bangalore: Cyclone Helen, which made its landfall in coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday, is expected to bring rains in the city during the next two days. Raichur, Gulbarga and Bellary will also receive moderate rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials in the city said the cyclone is expected to bring in cloud cover by Saturday and the city will experience light to moderate rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
The officials said the cloud cover over the city will raise minimum temperature.
“This will bring down the chillness that was experienced throughout last week. We are forecasting light rainfall over Bangalore but the city will be cloudy for the next two days,” said B. Puttanna, Director-in-Charge, IMD, Bangalore.
Temperatures in Bangalore are expected to fall once again after the effect of cyclone Helen decreases, said Putanna. Chilly weather can also be expected in other parts of the state, according to him.
“The northeast monsoon will continue even in December, but the temperatures will start falling during the end of November,” Putanna added.
