Bangalore: A 46-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot when a speeding four-wheeler mowed him down near Bhashyam Circle in Magadi Road traffic police limits on Saturday morning.
 
The deceased, Balaji, was a resident of Rajajinagar Third Block and worked as an accountant in a private firm. He was returning home after his morning walk. Around 6.10 am, he was crossing the road near 67th Cross when a black and reportedly over-speeding Maruti Suzuki Swift, going from Bhashyam Circle towards Rajajinagar 6th Block, allegedly rammed into Balaji, sending him flying, and killing him on the spot.
 
The police said the car driver abandoned his vehicle and fled from the spot. Balaji, who was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals, was declared brought dead. The Magadi Road traffic police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the driver.
