Apple confirms $360 mn acquisition of 3-D sensor startup PrimeSense

Apple has reportedly completed its acquisition of 3-D sensor start-up PrimeSense.

Washington: Apple has reportedly completed its acquisition of 3-D sensor start-up PrimeSense for a price of around 360 million dollars.

The Israel-based semiconductor company has been made responsible for advances in motion and depth capture under Apple's sponsorship, Wall Street Journal reports.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet confirmed the PrimeSense deal.

According to the report, although not made clear by the company, PrimeSense's technology could be used in any number of Apple's actual and under development products.
