Puducherry chief minister N. Rangasamy escaped without injuries after his convoy.
Chennai: Puducherry chief minister N. Rangasamy escaped without injuries after his convoy met with a minor accident on Santhome high road in the city on Sunday evening. The chief minister was returning to Puducherry after attending a wedding reception.
His car was making its way towards Puducherry, while an SUV, on its way towards the beach, collided with the pilot vehicle of the CM’s convoy near the Santhome church around 9.20 pm, sources said.
Both vehicles were damaged in the impact. The chief minister’s car, which came to a halt hitting the bumper of the pilot vehicle, didn’t suffer much damage.
While Rangasamy escaped without injuries, the driver and gunman in the pilot vehicle suffered minor injuries and were admitted to the government Royapettah hospital. Immediately after the accident, the CM left in another vehicle. The driver of the SUV was identified as Mubarak Ali of Chepauk.
Traffic was disrupted for 30 minutes.
