Nellore: While the YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is on a tour to meet national-level leaders to somehow stall the bifurcation of the state, his party leaders of Nellore district have begun poll campaigns much ahead of the 2014 elections.
With the Central leadership of the Congress high command inching towards the bifurcation of the state, election mood seems to have set on to the YSRC leaders well ahead of the elections.
An election meeting was kicked off by the YSRC at the Gangapatnam Chamundeswari temple premises in Indukurpeta mandal of Kovur constituency on Sunday.
MLC Jupudi Prabhakar, who took part in the election campaign meet, as a special guest said the time has come for the people of the state to vote against the Congress which has led the state into an absolute turmoil by raking up the bifurcation issue right before the general elections.
He called upon the people of the state to teach both the ruling Congress and the Telugu Desam a befitting lesson for leading the state to the verge of a divide. He lashed out at the Congress for sidelining various welfare schemes launched by Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy for the welfare of the downtrodden.
Kovur MLA Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy observed that lack of strong leadership led to the sorry state of affairs in the state after the demise of YSR. He added that the people of the state are waiting for an opportunity to vote for Jagan, who is young and dynamic like his father and more so a leader with a vision for uplifting the lives of the people below the poverty line.
Surveypalli constituency in-charge Kakani Govardhan Reddy felt that despite several hurdles created by the Congress and the TD, Jagan will emerge victorious and as the strongest leader in the next general elections.
