Kolhapur wins state shooting competition

Western Maharashtra's Kolhapur has emerged champion in the state-level shooting competitions.

Nashik: Western Maharashtra's Kolhapur has emerged champion in the state-level shooting competitions held at the divisional sports complex here.
 
Kolhapur shooters won six gold, six silver and four bronze medals, while Mumbai stood second in the competition by winning five gold, five silver and eight bronze, competition officials said today.
 
Pune secured third position with a tally of eight medals, consisting of three gold, two silver and three bronze while host Nashik finished fourth with two gold, five silver and one bronze.
 
The event, which began on November 21, concluded yesterday.
 
Nashik's Pratik Borse scored 311 points and emerged as the best shooter in the air rifle peep sight event, while Kolhapur's Anushka Patil scored 301 points and was the best among girls.
 
In fire pistol shooting event, Nagpur's Prashant Shinde was adjudged the best shooter.
