The shortage in Indane cooking gas cylinders experienced by the district would be resolved within 15 days.
Kochi: The shortage in Indane cooking gas cylinders experienced by the district would be resolved within 15 days, district Collector P.I. Sheikh Pareeth has said.
Addressing an open forum to discuss issues pertaining to LPG, he said that the IOC had given an assurance to this effect.
With this, the duration for receiving the cylinder supply would be reduced to 25- 30 days. Steps had also been taken to open three more agencies in Kakkanad region to address distribution problems.
Further, Hindustan Petroleum would soon open agencies in Aluva and Trippunithura, he said.
Though there was some delay in the delivery of Indane gas of the IOC, cylinders of Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum were readily available to customers, the meeting observed.
While those who have linked their Aadhaar number with their consumer ID will get a subsidy of '525 per cylinder, those who have not done so will have to pay an additional '27.08 as sales tax to this subsidized amount.
Kochi was also selected for the sale of non-subsidised 5 kg LPG cylinders from petrol pumps.
