J&K take early control

Kochi: Opener Ian Dev Singh got a 98 as Jammu & Kashmir have a steady hand on the tiller against Kerala in the fourth match of the Ranji Trophy Group C at the Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground in Jammu on Thursday .

Singh missed out on his 8th first class ton, but only after shoring up a comfortable day one.

The visitors made one change to their side that defeated Tripura at home with pacer P U Anthaf replacing off-spinner Vinoop Manoharan.
Even with three medium pacers in its ranks Kerala rarely troubled the hosts' batsmen.

Bandeep Singh and Parvez Rasool scored 49 and 40 respectively and for the visitors Sandeep Warrier, Prasanth Parameswaran and C P Shahid got a wicket apiece.

VRV DESTROYS HARYANA

Paceman V.R.V. Singh wreaked havoc with a five-wicket haul as Punjab bundled out Haryana for a mere 163 on Day One of their Ranji Trophy Group ‘ A’ match at Bansi Lal cricket stadium here on Thursday.

However, Punjab could not make the most of their advantage as they lost three wickets for 50 in reply at the end of the day.
