Debutant director Shree is a delighted man, as his film 'Damaal Dumeel' is in the final phase of shooting and Shree is glad about how his first film has shaped up. The former associate of ace filmmaker Shankar battled two years to make his dream come true. “I worked with Shankar sir in Enthiran and I moved out during Nanban as I had to start working on my film. When I worked with Shankar sir, I learnt how to make a commercial film that will be celebrated by the audience. Before that I used to make a lot of short films that were raw. He moulded me and he is a great source of inspiration,” says Shree.

DD is produced by Jaikumar and actors Vaibhav and Remya Nambeesan don the lead roles. It is a black comedy-cum-thriller. Vaibhav carries off the role of an IT professional, who gets trapped in an unfortunate circumstance. “And his struggle to save his life forms the crux of the film,” says Shree. Veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao and Sayaji Shinde will also be seen playing integral roles. “The protagonist of the film is one who is self-centered and he wouldn’t mind spending trivial amount of money and taking shortcuts to get his things done. So he is just the hero of the film, but not a real ‘hero’ as such,” he reveals. The director confirms that two more songs have to be shot and the shooting of the film will be completed in about a week’s time.
