Stuck in the cans
Top directors, K. Raghavendra Rao and Krishna Vamsi, are awaiting the release of their long-completed films 'Paisa' and 'Intinta Annamayya'.
Though they were supposed to be released a few months back, the fate of 'Intinta Annamayya' and 'Paisa' is uncertain. And while the makers of the films have been sending out press releases for the last couple of months stating that these films will be releasing soon, they still haven’t confirmed the date.
Sources say that perhaps for the first time in the history of Tollywood, two films made by big directors, are lying in the cans simultaneously. K. Raghavendra Rao has directed 'Intinta Annamayya', which is the debut film of Revanth, son of producer Y. Saibabu while Krishna Vamsi has directed 'Paisa'.
The source also adds that both the films have been passed by the censor board and are ready to hit the screens.
Since he was launching his son, producer Y. Saibabu spent a lot of money on 'Intinta Annamayya'’s publicity. “They started the publicity too early, spent crores, and now they are in a financial mess before the release,” says a close source.
On the other hand, Puppala Ramesh, the producer of 'Paisa', which stars Nani, Catherine and Siddique Sharma, is a part of RR Movie Makers. While the film is ready for release, it’s also stuck in a huge financial mess.
Producer Bellamkonda Suresh had bought Paisa from Puppala Ramesh. “Puppala Ramesh had incurred many debts. All of them approached Bellamkonda to get their dues cleared,” says a close source to the producer. With this, he too postponed the release of Paisa.
