'Kuttima', a short film directed by Ganesh Kumar, has received critical acclaim and gone viral on the social media. After 'Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi', which did well at the box office, and now 'Pannaiyarum Padminuyum' all set for a release, the trend for converting good short films into full-length feature films has risen. In a similar way, Ganesh Kumar is planning to take his short film, 'Kuttima', to the silver screen very soon.

“I am overwhelmed by the response to the film. I am almost done with my script, and will start the shoot very soon. Also, K.R. Rangamma Paati, who played the lead role in 'Kuttima', has been appreciated widely for her acting as the story is about the love between a youngster and his grandmother.  'Kuttima' is the most crucial character in the film, and so, we started to look for an old artist. Then we zeroed in on Rangamma Paati, who was a junior artiste in most of the feature films,” he says. The short film was completed last December, they screened it in quite a few colleges in the city, and at the AVM preview theatre a few months ago, which had industry big wigs take notice. Producer Darunika’s previous short film, 'Ooruku Ooru Naalu Theru', has also done well with movie buffs, and Ganesh Kumar is working on converting it into a full-length feature film.
