Siddharth in remake of 'Lucia'
Siddharth says the movie really affected him after he saw it
Siddharth is an actor who is choosy about the films in which he works. Similarly, C.V. Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment is particular that he gives new talent a chance and has a nose for good scripts. The producer, who made films like 'Pizza', 'Attakatthi' and 'Soodhu Kavvum', has chosen to remake the Kannada blockbuster, 'Lucia', which was directed by Pawan Kumar. And Siddharth is playing the lead protagonist in the psychological thriller.
The Tamil version would be directed by debutant Prasad Ramar, a co-director with Karthik Subburaj of 'Pizza' fame. 'Lucia' was recently screened at the International Film Festival in London to critical acclaim, and was selected as the best film by audiences.
Apparently, Siddharth had watched it and immediately tweeted, “My next film starting in Jan is the official remake of Kannada film 'Lucia'. Prasad Ramar (debut), Santosh Narayan, CV Kumar. 'Lucia' really affected me when I saw it. The original director Pawan Kumar deserves all the praise coming his way. Hope we do justice.”
He added, “Very thrilled to be working with pathbreaking producer CV Kumar ('Pizza', 'Soodhu Kavvum'). Young and talented team. Wish us luck.”
Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music. Bollywood biggie Anurag Kashyap has also appreciated the movie and has said that putting all Hindi films aside, 'Lucia' has come first and it was a birthday gift for him.
