"Thuthuru Thuthuru Thu Thumbi..."

Abhayakumar's voice is echoing across the state with the success of 'Punyalan Agarbathis'. Sreejith Ravi, who played Abhayakumar in the movie, is a very happy man.

“I was generally typecast in negative roles until recently. My roles in movies like 'Killi Poyi' and 'Memories' gave me a new platform. However, the success that 'Punyalan Agarbathis' brought is unprecedented. Never before have I received such rave reviews and so many phone calls for any other role. It's a great feeling," he says with a wide grin.

The actor has no complaints about his recent success and says life can be funny at times. “It's like kids running behind dragon flies. You can never catch it, no matter how hard you try. But when you give up and start focusing on other things, it comes and perch es on your arms or on your nose and teases you. That is what has happened with me," he says.

Recently, a fans' association was inaugurated in Thrissur in his name.

However, he shrugs it off. “I wouldn't really call it a fans' association. They are very close friends. They've approached me a few times before, but after 'Punyalan...', it seemed like the apt time. I don't believe fans' associations define you as an actor, but it feels good to know you have so much support."

“Fortunately, my role in the upcoming flick 'Vedivazhipadu' is also a different one. I'm happy to be able to do unique roles where I'm not repeating myself. But that does not mean I will not do negative roles any more. I'm happy to do any good role," says Sreejith.
