The pretty lass rose to instant fame when she was still studying in eight standard when she acted opposite Golden Star Ganesh, who was at the peak of his career.

Acting as a bold school-going girl in 'Cheluvina Chittara'. Amulya, fondly known as Ammu, is back again with her favourite co-star Ganesh in 'Shravani Subramanya' after a gap of six years.

The actress, who gained critical acclaim for her special role in Prakash Raj's directorial venture 'Nanu Nanna Kanasu', says, “Since 'Cheluvina Chittara', which was a huge hit, I kept getting many offers to work again with Ganesh Sir, but I did not like the roles I was being offered. When I came across 'Shravani Subramanya', I felt that it could be my best comeback, especially since I was paired opposite Ganesh Sir."

Her debut film had to face severe criticism prior to its release as many were against a minor girl being cast in such “mature" role. However, her performance silenced all her critics. Looking back at her film career for the past six to seven years, Amulya recalls that she was just in high school when the offer for lead heroine came knocking on her doors.

“I must thank all my seniors in the industry, especially  Narayan Sir and Ganesh, who have always supported my career. I had no idea about filmdom when I did my first film. I just followed the instructions of my director and senior co-stars."

So, how did she juggle both studies and acting? Amulya says, “I just accepted a film a year, to facilitate studies. I somehow managed it with assistance from school and now my college management. It is only when I accept two films a year that it becomes a problem. Right now, I am done with 'Shravani Subramanya', which is releasing on December 20 and my next movie 'Gajakesari' with Yash Sir is under progress."

The actress who has acted in seven films so far in the lead role, including 'Gajakesari' apart from 10 others as a child artist in short roles, says, “Since 'Cheluvina Chittara', I have learnt a lot. I have started experimenting with my acting. Unlike my first film, in 'Shravani Subramanya', my character is an innocent girl who is immature. So Ganesh Sir is always scolding me, which is opposite to what I portrayed earlier. I liked the script and hope that my fans will like me, especially since I am back with Ganesh Sir."

Amulya wants to continue her studies, after graduation, through correspondence and concentrate on her acting career. We wish her luck.
