Kumari breaks 42 year old record in shot put

Chennai: R. Kumari of MOP Vaishnav stole the thunder on the first day of the AL Mudaliar inter-college athletic meet at the Nehru Stadium on Tuesday . She erased the meet record, standing since 1971-72, in the shot put with an effort of 11.68 metres. V.

Vignesh of Presidency was another hero of the day as he sailed over 4.51m to set a meet record in the pole vault.
