Aamir Khan turns biker for 'Dhoom 3'

It has been 15 years since Aamir Khan played a biker on screen. The film was Vikram Bhatt’s 'Ghulam' and it went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 1998. Cut to 2013 and the stakes are higher than ever before for Aditya Chopra’s 'Dhoom 3' that will see a reprisal of Aamir’s biker act, albeit with a twist.

“This time round, the bike is a lot heavier when compared to what he rode in 'Ghulam' to woo his onscreen ladylove Rani Mukerji. The 'Dhoom 3' bike is actually a stylish BMW. To ensure utmost authenticity to the role, Aamir, who plays a negative role in the film, went through special training so that he could perform most of the stunts himself,” says a source. Considering the fact that the 'Dhoom' series and bikes are synonymous with each other, and stars such as John Abraham as well as Hrithik Roshan have made it look cool in the previous series, expectations from Aamir are high.

A source says, “Besides the 'Dhoom' series, stars in other films have also displayed their biking prowess. For 'Chennai Express', SRK continued to practise till he got it right. Before him, Saif Ali Khan too had performed some cool bike stunts in 'Agent Vinod'. Now Aamir will just have to make sure, he surpasses all these impressive efforts.”
