Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha and actor Manoj Bajpai have found themselves at loggerheads 13 years after their films 'Tum Bin' and 'Aks' clashed at the box office. This time round, it is with 'Gulaab Gang' and 'Traffic' that the two have founds themselves going toe-to-toe at the box office. Both 'GG' and 'Traffic' are eyeing a March 7 release date.

“'Tum Bin' and 'Aks' had released on the same day in 2001,” one trade analyst pointed out. “No one thought 'Tum Bin' had a chance since it starred newcomers while 'Aks' boasted of the superstar power of Amitabh Bachchan. Manoj had played the antagonist in 'Aks'.” However, 'Aks' was a box office disaster while 'Tum Bin' was a success.

“This time round, 'Gulaab Gang' has Madhuri Dixit while 'Traffic' has an ensemble cast with Manoj playing a traffic cop,” the analyst said.

Both 'Gulaab Gang' and 'Traffic' are backed by corporate houses — the former by Sahara Movie Studios and the latter by Fox Star Studios. With the stage set for two equal adversaries, here’s hoping they both will come out of this clash looking good.
