Expo funds for hospice care
Anand Channar organises an international art expo to support the initiatives of hospice care.
Kochi: Not many people would connect art and hospice care. But this Kerala- born artist is linking up these two distinct fields in a way that they complement each other.
Anand Channar, an artist based in the Middle East, is organizing an international art expo to support the initiatives of hospice care.
About 35 percent of the total proceeds from the event, to be held at the Durbar Hall in Kochi from December 10 for the next ten days, will go directly to the Alpha Palliative care clinic.
“The event will feature about one hundred paintings of artists from different countries including Canada, UK, South Africa and Dubai.
In addition to paintings, the art expo will also exhibit metal sculptures from Italy, Architectural art, Islamic art, 2 d wall art, which will be open for sale to private individuals’’, the artist said.
According to him, the event was being planned as an affordable exhibition, in which, the items on display would be sold at less than their standard prices.
Born in Mavelikkara in Alappuzha, Anand graduated in fine arts from the Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts there in 1962.
