'Gulliver and Lilliputs' in Motion Capture Technology

Pentamedia, pioneers in animation and deliverers of projects, such as Pandavas, Alibaba and The Legend of Buddha, which have won awards and been nominated for the Oscars, is all set with their next 72-minute, 3D animation film, titled Gulliver and Lilliputs.

Pentamedia were the first to bring motion capture technology to Tamil films. In their earlier production, Shankar's Jeans, there's a song where a body double of Aishwarya Rai's dances alongside Ash, which was captured by motion technology.

Directed by Anita Udeep, who did films like Kulir 100 Degrees, the story line is based on the original by Jonathan Swift. “The writing has been stylised to suit an international audience by the American scritwriter, Alexandria," says the producer. “We started the work in 2012 and completed it by mid 2013. Gulliver is quite popular among teenagers as his story is a part of their English non-detailed curriculum in schools, and it will be appealing for them to see this giant hero and the six-inch people on screen, that too through the 3D glass," he added.

The film took part in various international film festivals, like the Indian Panoram Film Festival in Goa, the New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF) and the Mumbai International Film Festival. It is expected to hit the marquee on December 20.
