Hyderabad: A day before the commencement of winter session of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the pro-Telangana leaders tried to persuade MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi to support the Telangana Bill in the House.

Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, Government Whips A Mohan and Anil Kumar and TRS leaders Etala Rajender and T Harish Rao on Wednesday called on Akbar Owaisi in his chambers in the State Legislative Assembly. According to sources, they sought the support of MIM when the Telangana Bill is table in the House.

However, Akbar Owaisi reportedly told the pro-Telangana leaders that he would discuss the issue with other leaders of his party before giving any commitment.

It may be mentioned that the MIM has been opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and had proposed Rayala-Telangana if the division was inevitable. However, the Centre has rejected both the demands and now MIM is the only party in the region which openly opposed the division of State.
