Anantapur: Senior Congressman and Tadipatri MLA J. C. Diwakar Reddy’s scathing attack on Congress party chief, Sonia Gandhi and serious allegations on party position, raised many an eyebrow.

Further, an attack by PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana’s statement has become a weapon for the dissident group, of Diwakar Reddy, mainly in Anantapur district.

Diwakar Reddy group had differences with the Revenue Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy’s group in the district, for the last decade.

Sources said, Diwakar Reddy was denied berth in the ministry during Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, K. Rosaiah and N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s tenures, though he made efforts at all levels with the high command.

In addition, Raghuveera Reddy was given priority in the ministry expansion, including, berth for his close aide Sake Sailajanath. Raghuveera Reddy group has been making all efforts to suppress Diwakar Reddy’s group, in the district, while his brother Prabhakar Reddy, was denied Anantapur district Cooperative Central Bank chairman post even after he got support from the majority of PACS presidents.

Interestingly, Anantapur DCCB chairman elections were still pending following legal queries as Raghuveera Reddy group proposed sitting Chairman T. Kona Reddy for the post, though the election process was completed at all districts.

Though speculation was over, J. C. Prabhakar Reddy, shifting loyalties to Telugu Desam, the proposal had to be temporarily halted, but he started campaigning against Raghuveera Reddy, at Kalyanadurg segment and other parts of the district.

Speculation was also rife over introducing Diwakar Reddy’s son to field from Tadipatri, as an independent candidate.

Diwakar Reddy who made serious efforts for Rayala Telangana proposal, but failed to get acceptance at the final stage, was also a reason for the attack on the party high command.

The party sources said, his dissidence group at various levels was mounting pressure on PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana to initiate action against the senior leader.

While dissidence group was lobbying against Diwakar in the issue, his close aides were extending support to their leader.
