Sabeena suges to top at Tenpin bowling Nationals
Bengaluru: Defending champion Sabeena Athica took off from where she left last year by vaulting to the top of the leader board on the opening day of the women's competition in the National tenpin bowling championships at the Blu O, here on Thursday .
Sabeena, who started off on a low note in her first game score of 169, was in her element thereafter notching top scores of 214, 220 and 207 in Games 3, 5 and 6 to finish the day with a total pinfall of 1154 and average of 192.33. Following Sabeena in second position is Karnataka’s Pooja Hegde with a pinfall of 1105 and average of 184.16 after the first block of six games on long oil condition in Round 1.
Anukriti Bishnoi of Haryana with pinfall of 1052 and average 175.33 and Judy Alban of Karnataka with pinfall of 1030 and average 171.67 come up in that order at third and fourth positions respectively.
Among men, defending champion Dhruv Sarda of Delhi overtook the overnight leader Shabbir Dhankot of Tamil Nadu by notching four high scores of 227, 226, 256 and 235 in Games 7, 9, 10 & 11.
