Salman-Danny team up after 23 years

The presence of Danny Denzongpa in the first look of 'Jai Ho' certainly came as a surprise

After all the preceding brouhaha, the first look of 'Jai Ho' was finally unveiled on Thursday evening.

While there wasn’t much that was unexpected about Salman Khan’s avatar in the film, the presence of Danny Denzongpa certainly came as a surprise. Interestingly, it is after 23 years that the two actors are sharing screen space.

“In Saawan Kumar’s 1991 film 'Sanam Bewafa', Salman-Danny were seen as father and son. In 2014, they’re pitted opposite each other in 'Jai Ho',” a trade expert said. Reportedly a remake of the Telugu film 'Stalin', 'Jai Ho' will have Danny reprise a part played by Prakash Raj. Our source points out that since the Salman-Prakash pairing had already been seen in 'Dabangg 2', and that the two actors allegedly had a falling out while working on the film, there was no question of repeating Prakash in 'Jai Ho'. “So Danny was more than happy to step in,” the trade expert adds.

We hear that Salman and Danny have shared a warm rapport since Sanam Bewafa. “Danny acknowledges Salman’s superstar status. The scenes between them were electrifying and powerful. The dialoguebaazi between them is one of the highlights of the film,” says a source.
