She did her schooling at Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and graduated from Sydenham College.
Born to businessman father Chinta Poli Reddy, and mother Nakshatra, Sameera is the youngest in her family. She has two elder sisters - Meghna Reddy, former VJ and supermodel and Sushma Reddy, Bollywood actress and model.
