Hyderabad: Tense situation prevailed at the Secretariat when employees hailing from Seemandhra and Telangana almost came to blows in front of the Samatha block where the offices of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chief Secretary Dr P.K. Mohanty are located. Police had a tough time controlling the two groups who shouted slogans against each other for about an hour.

Normalcy was finally restored when Telangana Joint Action Committee leader Devi Prasad took away the T employees as per the request of the police.

Trouble started with Seemandhra employees organising demonstrations in front of the C Block violating their earlier commitment to confine protests to a designated area near L block. They brought an effigy of AICC leader Digvijay Singh and tried to burn it. Police prevented them from doing so.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Telangana employees led by V. Srinivas Goud reached the media point just a few yards away from Seemandhra employees.

The T employees raised counter slogans and at one stage the Seemandhra employees turned emotional objecting to certain gestures allegedly made by Srinivas Goud. The two groups tried to move towards each other and the police stepped in to prevent a clash.
