Bangalore: Fast cars, dirt roads and scenic locations -a nirvana for rally enthusiasts, all this and more is in store when the annual Coffee Day rally , the fifth and final round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship, kicks off a Chikmagalur on Dec. 19.

Sponsored by Coffee Day in association with Volkswagen along with SIDVIN and Slideways industries, the rally will be flagged off from the Amber Valley Residential School with the spectatorfriendly super special stage before the next two legs over two days.

With 41 entries vying for the podium, this leg is the biggest on the INRC calendar this season. It will also be one of the most challenging with the track being newly laid out on narrow dirt roads spread over four Coffee Day estates covering a total distance of 281.20 kilometres.

With the likes of Gaurav Gill, the current Asia Pacific Rally champion, Lohit Urs and Sunny Sidhu in fray in the SUV section, the star quotient is surely high.

Prithviraj Siddappa, head of Volkswagen Motorsport India said, “We have organized shuttle service from Bengaluru to Chikmagalur for the rally enthusiasts.“

This year's installment, in addition to being a candidate event for 2014 Asia Cup, will also have “the star of Chikmagalur“ to promote local talent with one section open for all cars and another for cars up to 1600 cc.

The entry passes are available at Coffee Day Square in Bengaluru.
