Apart from acting, Riteish is passionate about drawing and designing.
Not many know that the actor, who is an interior designer by qualification, has designed the office premises of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan's film production banner Red Chillies Entertainment.
Riteish also made his small-screen debut as a judge for the TV reality show 'India's Dancing Superstar'.
The couple are co-owners of the 'Veer Marathi' Celebrity Cricket League. Riteish is the team's captain. Bollywood actors Mahesh Manjrekar and Shreyas Talpade are part of the team.
"She is my flag-bearer. I draw unconditional support and love from her. Genelia's love holds me together and to understand her love is something else. It is amazing." says Riteish about his wife.
He married Genelia D'Souza, his co-star from 'Tujhe Meri Kasam', 'Masti' and 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya', on February 3, 2012.
His upcoming projects include 'Dostana 2' , 'The Villain' and Tigmanshu Dhulia's next untitled project opposite Ranveer Singh, Preity Zinta and Yami Gautam.
Riteish was last seen in the adult comedy movie 'Grand Masti'.
'Aladin' (2009), 'Rann' (2010), 'Housefull' (2010), 'F.A.L.T.U' (2011), 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' (2012), 'Housefull 2' (2012) and 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum' (2012) are some of his other notable movies. Riteish won the IIFA Award for Best Comic Actor
Some of his more well-known films include 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum' (2005), 'Bluffmaster!' (2005), 'Apna Sapna Money Money' (2006), 'Malamaal Weekly' (2006) and 'Heyy Babyy' (2007).
After this there was no turning back for Riteish, as he starred in many movies which turned out to be commercial successes.
But, it was not until his third film, 'Masti', a comic thriller, that Riteish tasted success. His role as the philandering husband, earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
He appeared in another film in the same year, 'Out of Control', which had a average run at the box-office.
Riteish began his film career in 2003 with the romantic film, 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' opposite his later-to-be-wife Genelia D'Souza.
After graduation, Riteish worked in an architectural firm in New York, while studying acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
He completed his schooling from G.D. Somani High School and Kamala Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai.
Riteish is the son of the late politician and ex-chief minister of Maharastra, Vilasrao Deshmukh and Vaishali Deshmukh. He has two brothers Amit Deshmukh and Dheeraj Deshmukh.
He was born on December 17, 1978, in Latur, Maharashtra.
