After capturing the hearts of Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood audiences with her charm and beauty, Madhuurima is ready to get a footing in Mollywood with Srinath Rajendran's film 'Koothara'. The actress plays Shaista, a rich NRI girl in the movie.

“In the film, my father and Sunny Wayne's father are close friends, so I'm forced to join the same college as him. The film revolves around three college guys and their life. We shot in Calicut University, where Srinath, Sunny Wayne and Vini Vishwalal (the script writer) studied, so everyone relived our college days during the shoot. However, the schedule was hectic and, on some days, it would start raining out of the blue and we were forced to stop shooting. So we only got to go to the beach a couple of times, but we had a lot of fun inside the college," says Madhuurima.

The actress explains that so many incidents from her own life seemed to be re-enacted in the film. “There is this scene where I go to talk to one of the boys there. Being a pretty, new girl in college, the other guys get into a fracas and literally fight over the girl. I was so popular in college that I used to have boys fight over who gets to talk to me even in real life!" she adds with a grin.

Madhuurima is paired opposite Kollywood actor Bharath in the film. “Bharath is called 'Kalikaran' in the movie, as he is a typical playboy who chases pretty babes. When I join college, I'm the babe and that is how we are paired together. The first half of the film is all fun and then it takes a turn in the second half. It was a great experience working for a Malayalam project," she says.

However, the actress has one regret. “I wish I had at least one scene with Mohanlal sir. He is such a tremendous actor. But, unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to act with him. Perhaps, some other time," she says.

Madhuurima made her debut in films with G.V. Iyer's 'Kadambari'. She was spotted by the director in a recording studio when she was singing. “I have learnt Hindustani classical music and ghazals and used to sing children's songs when I sing children's songs when I was younger. But I have not been singing much lately as I have not had the opportunty. Even today, my mother keeps pushing me to go back to singing. I will when I get the right offer," she adds.

The actress will be seen in two Tamil films, including a project by project Malayalam director Anil Kumar and a Telugu film by Maruti soon. She has also bagged a Bollywood film. “The project has been confirmed and it will begin early next year. But I'm waiting for the director to announce the name and other details of the movie. They should be the ones to speak about it first," she says.
