Item girl no more: Meenakshi
Meenakshi Dixit is now focusing on playing a leading lady.
After a couple of item songs in Srinu Vaitla’s films 'Dookudu' and 'Baadshah', Meenakshi Dixit is now focusing on playing a leading lady. The actress currently has three projects on hand, in the Telugu, Tamil and Hindi film industries. “I want to concentrate on playing the main lead,” Meenakshi confirms. We hear that she plays a sharp shooter in the Telugu thriller 'Adavi Kachina Vennela', starring Arvind Krishna. “I play an interesting character who is preparing for the Olympics as a shooter,” says Meenakshi, who didn’t know how to hold a gun and aim earlier. “The action director taught me how to do it before we began shooting,” she adds.
Meenakshi’s role in the Tamil film is completely different. “It’s a comedy starring Vadivelu. This is his comeback film,” she informs, adding that the story revolves around Sri Krishna Devaraya and Tenali Ramak-rishna. “I play the daughter of Krishnadevaya,” she says.
The actress has completed shooting for her Hindi film 'P Se Pm Tak' directed by Kundan Shah. “It’s a typical Kundan Shah film with comedy and satire. It’s a woman-centric movie and I play the lead,” she says.
