Jayachandra dies in mishap

The additional joint collector died after his car hit a road divider.

Anantapur: Anantapur additional joint collector K. Jayachandra, 57, met with a fatal accident when  his car  hit a divider  near Vadiyampeta under BK Samudram mandal on NH-44  in the district in the wee hours of Tuesday,  12 kms away from Anantapur.

The victim’s  son Sandeep, who was in  the co-passenger’s seat was grievously injured in the accident. Mr Jayachandra was driving  the vehicle.

According to reports, Anantapur additional joint collector Mr   Jaya-chandra and his son Sandeep  were returning from Kurnool.

Anantapur Rayalase-ema Parirakshana Sam-ithi district convener B. Ramesh, who was also in  Kurnool to attend a meeting on Sunday off-ered Jayachandra and his son a ride in his car.
Sources said, Jayachandra took over the wheel near Gooty.

The additional joint collector succumbed to serious injuries on the spot. His son who recently completed engineering, was rushed  to a general hospital at Anantapur. Doctors said he was undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.

They were just  10 minutes away from the  officials quarters of the collectorate bungalow campus in Anantapur when they met with the accident.Heart rending scenes were witnessed at his residence.

Collector D. S. Lokesh Kumar, joint collector S. Satyanarayana, district civil supplies manager B. Venkatesam and a large number of officials paid homage to the additional joint collector Jayachandra.
