Kiran Reddy's no to early session

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has not given in to the demand of Telangana MLAs to advance the second phase of the assembly session in order to discuss the Telangana draft bill.

Legislative affairs minister D. Sridhar Babu, panchayat minister K. Jana Reddy, government chief whip,  Gandra Venkata Ram-ana Reddy, and others, met the CM on Wedn-esday at his chambers in the Assembly.

The Telangana ministers requested the CM to convene the second phase of the Assembly session on December 27 instead of January 3.

They said if the discussions continue till January 23 the formation of Telangana state will be delayed.

But the CM did not accede to their request. He said that he will stick with what was agreed to in the Business Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday. The BAC has decided to complete the discussions on the Telangana bill in three phases. The second phase will start from January 3.

Earlier in the day, TRS MLAs led by T. Harish Rao met panchayat raj minister K. Jana Reddy, and told him that the discussions on the bill should be completed as early as possible.
