Washington: Facebook has reportedly revamped its Home feature on Android smartphones by making it familiar to a traditional lockscreen with overlaid notifications for both the phone and Facebook.

The tweaked Facebook Home displays clock and weather information on top of Cover Feed and provides users with customization options.

According to Tech Crunch, the new version shows time, weather and notifications in the lockscreen for instant viewing and users can swipe left to view the Cover Feed for full-screen photos and posts.

The Home launcher includes a shortcut to bring up the Cover Feed and users can also set a wallpaper of their choice.

The report said that when Facebook Home was initially launched in April, it failed to strike a chord with customers due to lack of folders, widgets, dock of favorite apps, which marred the essential phone experience and let Facebook take over everything.

However, the new version allows users to customize a favorite apps dock, create folders, and import their existing folders.

The new Facebook Home is available for download in the Google's Play store for Android devices.
