Kozhikode: BJP national vice-president Bandara Dattatreya has said that the Congress should stop its false campaigns against Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and instead announce its PM candidate. He was talking to reporters after attending the state-level office-bearers’ meeting here on Thursday.

“Sonia Gandhi should try to field a candidate who is on par with Modi as PM candidate. In Kerala, most of the constituencies will have triangular contests in the Lok Sabha elections,”  he said.

The current situation in the state was in favour of the BJP, he said.  The office-bearers’ meeting decided to hold rModi’s public rally here on February 2, which will be approved by the state committee on Friday.

BJP state president V. Muraleedharan said Gulf-based businessman Abhilash Muraleedharan had not accompanied the Gujarat delegation of ministers and legislators to Kerala, but had come on his own.
