How can Kiran feign ignorance?, asks former speaker Ramakrishnudu
Former speaker questions on KKR's ignorance as he was unaware about a bulletin issued in his name.
Hyderabad: After Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he was unaware about a bulletin issued in his name on Thursday, former Speaker and leader of the Opposition in the Council, Y. Ramakrishnudu, said, “How can the CM feign ignorance?”
Explaining the procedure of introducing a Bill in the Assembly, he said that the Assembly secretary would issue minutes of the BAC in consultation with the Speaker and Leader of the House.
TD member A. Revanth Reddy went a step further and said that if the CM is to be believed, then action should be taken against those who issued the bulletin without his knowledge.
Interestingly, the report put to rest the controversy over whether or not a debate on the Telangana Bill was initiated. Contrary to the CM’s claims that the report was only placed and the debate is yet to start, the report said that the House will “continue” the discussion “immediately”.
The BAC, according to the report, however, kept options open on voting on the Bill.
The CM as well as Opposition leaders from Seemandhra insist that “expression of views” or “opinion” of the legislature is tantamount to voting.
