Prescription to thrill
Madhav Ramadasan is ready to start his next film -- a thriller based on a medical theme titled 'Apothecary'.
Madhav Ramadasan's last outing 'Melvilasom' was a film that earned him critical acclaim.
A court room drama, the film featured Suresh Gopi and Partiban in central roles. The film stood out because it was shot entirely inside a courtroom and did not feature any female characters except for a girl child. It did not have a single song either.
This time around, Madhav is planning a film 'Apothecary' featuring Suresh Gopi again along with Jayasurya and Asif Ali in the lead.
'Apothecary' means a health professional who is trained in the art of preparing and dispensing drugs.
This is a never before attempted combination of actors although Jayasurya and Asif have been paired in an earlier film. The combination of Jayasurya and Suresh Gopi is happening for the first time.
Speaking about the casting, Madhav says, “I chose all these actors based on the requirement of the character, their body language and their acting potential. The heroines are not confirmed as yet but there will be three heroines in the film."
Ask him if this film is a complete deviation from his earlier offering and will it take the commercial route, and Madhav replies, “I really can't say if the film will be a commercial one or not! It is a thriller but will take the serious route of storytelling to throw light on a serious issue. The theme is no doubt a medical one and I would like to call it a highly technical thriller."
Madhav does not want to reveal more details of the thriller.
The film, produced by Dr Baby Mathew and Dr George Mathew under the banner of Arambankudiyil Cinemas, will have renowned veteran cinematographer Hari Nair handling the camera and Sajith Krishnan as project designer. The shooting of the film is scheduled to start by February 20th at Palakkad.
