Affidavit war brews between MLAs now
A new war has started between Telangana and Seemandhra MLAs with both sides deciding to file affidavits.
Hyderabad: A new war has started between Telangana and Seemandhra MLAs with both sides deciding to file affidavits for and against the state’s bifurcation.
Seemandhra MLAs of the Congress, YSR Congress and the TD have decided to submit affidavits opposing the state’s bifurcation. To counter this, the Telangana JAC said that all its 119 Telangana MLAs will also file affidavits. The steering committee of the TJAC, which met on Friday, took a decision in this regard.
Telangana MLAs will demand 11 amendments to the Telangana Bill. They are opposed to Hyderabad with GHMC limits as the comm-on capital and to the handing over of law and order powers to the Governor and want it to be with the Telangana state CM.
TJAC chairman Kodandaram said that they would meet the President regarding the same. While YSRC MLAs signed the affidavits on Friday, Congress and TD MLAs from Seemandhra are also busy with the filling.
Telangana and Seemandhra MLAs will submit their affidavits to the Assembly Speaker and to the Presi-dent. Seemandhra MLAs will also file the affidavits in the courts, sources said.
