Brrr! It’ll be a cold Christmas in Hyderabad
Temperatures likely to dip to 11-12ºC, Hyderabad will be gripped in a chill.
Hyderabad: Christmas will be a colder than usual affair as Meteorological officials have predicted a further fall in temperatures by 2ºC this week.
They have also informed that the trend will continue for a few more weeks and the lower minimum is likely to dip to 11-12ºC by Wednesday and the city will be gripped in a chill this Christmas.
“The temperatures have dipped all over the globe because pressures are very high. And also since the Siberian High is very strong the impact is even more. The north-eastern cold and dry winds will also add to the chill,” informed S.V.S.S. Narsimha, HoD, Department of Meteorology, Andhra University. Low pressure over Siberia is pushing icy winds towards India, which is increasing the wind speeds.
The temperatures fell appreciably at many places over Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema. “Clear skies are also a reason for the cold breeze,” Meteorological officials informed.
